Hasan Özkılıç was born in 1951, in Igdır. He attended secondary
school here from first to second class. In 1968, his family moved to
Manisa Turgutlu as workers. Ozkılıç continued his education here. In
1973, he graduated from Turgutlu Lycee. In 1974, Ozkılıc began
attending Business Department of Ege University and in 1980 he
graduated from here.
Hasan Ozkılıç began writing in the first years of 1970s. His first
story was published in 1974 by Demokrat İzmir newspaper. Then his
stories were published by magazines like Çıkış, Edebiyat Cephesi,
Küçücük, Öykü, İnsancıl, Evrensel Kültür, Gerçek Sanat, Adam Öykü,
Agora, Yelkovan, Notos Öykü. The writer’s first book Kuş Boranı was in
1998 by İnsancıl PublishingHouse. His books then published by Can
PublishingHouse ;Şerul’da Beklemek in 2002, Orada Yollarda in 2005,
Gönlümün Şirazesi Bozuldu in 2008. In 2007, his book Gönlümün Şirazesi
Bozuldu won Haldun Taner Story Award given by newspaper Milliyet.
Between 2000 and 2005, the writer published Agora Yeni Binyıl
Literature Art Culture Magazine and in December 2005, he binded
publishing. In 2008, Erden Kral adopted his stories Bir Yanı Yaralı
from his book Kuş Boranı and Güzel Günler İçin from Orada Yollarda as
a long film “Vicdan”. The film featured in October 2008. Nurgül
Yeşilçay, Murat Han, Tülin Özen and Nazan Kesal performed in the film.
It won four awards in Antalya Altın Portakal Film Festival; the best
actress, the best director of photography, the best editing and the
best make up.
Director Özcan Alper also adopted the writer’s story “Adı Kargalarda
Saklı” from his book, “Şerul’da Beklemek” in the name of “Moto Guzzi”.
The story was selected in the competition of Kars Altın Kaz Film
Festival under five ‘snow story’ and filmed in 2008 at that region as
short film. That film was featured in 2008 in the same festival. ..
The writer’s daughter Öykü was born in 2000.
